Thursday 28 August [19:00] 2025, London - adidas Originals has redefined a streetwear legend with the launch of ‘Superstar: The Original Icon’. The brand with the Three Stripes unites a powerhouse line-up of original voices - Stormzy, Olivia Dean, Shygirl, Barry Keoghan, Jude Bellingham and Florian Wirtz - to honour the Superstar’s enduring legacy and inspire a new generation to make it their own. This star-studded adidas Originals UK showcase follows the brand’s recently announced global Superstar campaign, which brought together multi-generational icons including Samuel L. Jackson, Missy Elliott, Jennie and Mark Gonzales.

To mark the UK launch, adidas Originals unveils THIS IS SUPERSTAR - a three-day cultural takeover at London’s 180 Studios, running Friday 29 to Sunday 31 August. Celebrating the pillars that have shaped the Superstar’s legacy - fashion, skate, and music - the event transforms the iconic sneaker’s story into an immersive, creative experience. Guests will explore spaces curated by authentic communities, dive into interactive installations, and feel the pulse of the scenes that cemented the Superstar as a global symbol of style and attitude. Open to everyone, it’s an invitation to step in, stand out, and make your mark - just as the Superstar always has.

Drawing on the iconic silhouette’s legacy of transcending cultural spaces, adidas Originals ‘Superstar: The Original Icon’ UK campaign visuals adopt a living stage as its backdrop. Offering a striking ode to both the original Superstar colorway and its stripped back iconicity, the scene is captured in dramatic high contrast black and white as an all-star cast shows off the magnetism of being an Original Icon. 

At the heart of it all stands the Superstar, returning in two classic colorways alongside the iconic Firebird Tracksuit. Created for basketball, adopted by the pioneers of streetwear, championed again and again by each generation, the Superstar is the original icon that made a journey from sports to culture. With its enhanced padding in the tongue and collar, the Superstar defined an influential era in the late 90s, becoming the footwear of choice for artists, musicians, and skaters who pushed cultural boundaries. Alongside it, the Firebird Tracksuit has remained in the spotlight since 1967, continuously embraced by style pioneers and musical innovators worldwide. 

‘Superstar: The Original Icon’ is now live, with adidas Originals Superstar II and Firebird apparel available to purchase. THIS IS SUPERSTAR is opening to the public from Friday 29 to Sunday 31 August at 180 Studios, London, offering standout programming by NTS, LABRUM London, and RWD.
