Rising singer songwriter Sibb releases the official video for “Alright”, the latest visual from his debut EP Delusion, via Embassy of Music. The release continues the cinematic universe first introduced with previous single “Mine”.
Positioned within Act I – Hyperromanticism, “Alright” explores morality, emotional conflict and the uncertainty that follows difficult personal decisions. Inspired by classic 90s ballads and the smooth emotional depth of Lianne La Havas, the track sees Sibb reflecting on rejecting a romantic advance from someone already in a relationship and questioning the emotional aftermath of doing the right thing.
Visually, the video marks a striking contrast to the intense red toned world of “Mine”. This new chapter shifts into cool blue hues, symbolising vulnerability and emotional clarity. Dressed in white and adorned with pearls and diamonds, Sibb moves through dreamlike corridors before arriving on a dusky rooftop, trading theatrical tension for a more exposed and human presence.
The release arrives after a breakthrough period for the Bremen based artist, who has built a strong reputation across Germany’s live circuit with performances at major cultural spaces and festivals including Fusion Festival,Berghain, Kampnagel Hamburg and Schwankhalle Bremen. His growing momentum led to a collaboration with Embassy of Music, the label known for working with artists including Robyn, Björk and Moby.
Originally coming from an engineering background, Sibb transitioned fully into music following mentorship from Trinidadian jazz musician Vaughnnette Bigford. Adopting the name Sibb, short for “simple black boy”, he has since developed an artistic identity where music and visuals exist hand in hand.
Sibb sat down with Wordplay Magazine to answer our infamous 10 Questions:
1. So tell me, how did it all begin? What sparked your love for music?
I've been singing and writing poems for my entire life. I think the greatest spark however, happened when I started to produce my day festival, Feel The Fantasy in my home country. This for me was the first time I was able to present the harmony of these two joys and also have the opportunity to present the full audiovisual concept of my work.
2. Who are some artists that influence you and that you want to work with in the future?
I would say my foundation was inspired by artists like Mariah Carey and Usher. I also truly enjoy the works of Lady Gaga, FKA Twigs, Willow and Lianne La Havas. There is too long of a list to name more but I am inspired a lot by artists who present not just a sound by an entire world of feelings and human experiences.
3. What projects do you have coming up and can you give us any info on them?
I am currently writing my next project. The process thus far has really pushed me to expand the sonic spaces that I explore with my music. I feel like my first project Delusion, dove into very intimate interpersonal experiences. This new project opens up conversations about individuals' experiences with the wider society and how we are perceived. I am very excited for people to hear these songs!
4. How would you describe your sound?
I would say that my sound is Pop music that flirts a lot with Soul and Jazz. My songs are often very layered. There is so much to tell when I present a story and the music reflects this both in the instrumental and vocal compositions.
5. What's your proudest moment to date so far as an artist?
I can't state a singular one but the collection of moments where I speak with people after my shows and they share what the music made them feel. This to me means that I have paid respect to the feelings that were captured and is a good reminder of the power and importance of music to our lives.

6. Do you have any advice for our readers who may be trying to play the mad game of music?
I would say that you should connect with the music/artist community nearest to you and when you become a part, carry that welcoming energy forward to the next person who comes wandering in. This is a nice place to start and to grow.
7. Are there any artists on your radar right now that we should check out?
Some great artists from Bremen, such as EPILOG, Secret Act and AYHAM.
8. What albums are on heavy rotation on your Spotify playlist currently?
Eusexua - FKA Twigs, empathogen - Willow, Emotions - Mariah Carey, MAYHAM - Lady Gaga.
9. What do you like to do when you're not making music?
I really enjoy meeting up with my friends, nothing too wild. I just love spending time with my people tbh.
10. Name three things you can't live without when in the studio?
My songbook and my headphones are all I need, actually. Studio time is some of the most fun time in the process.
