dove rd - Fantasy (Official Video)

Emerging R&B/pop artist dove rd ushers in a new chapter with ‘Fantasy’, a deeply personal and cinematic single exploring heartbreak, nostalgia and the complicated process of moving on. Blending intimate acoustic guitar with punchy drums, atmospheric textures and layered vocals, the track captures the bittersweet feeling of holding onto someone who has become little more than a memory.

Originally written during a relationship, ‘Fantasy’ took on an entirely new meaning following its breakdown. Returning to the unfinished song, dove rd found himself confronting emotions that had previously existed only in his imagination, transforming the track into a poignant reflection on love, loss and rediscovery. The result is a beautifully melancholic offering that balances vulnerability with an underlying sense of hope.

Raised by two pastors, dove rd's musical journey began in church before taking him through musical theatre, songwriting and a stint touring with Emblem3. Despite pursuing various paths, including college football and pastoral work, music remained a constant. Now embracing a fresh identity inspired by a road near his childhood home, the artist is channelling those experiences into honest, emotionally driven storytelling.

“‘Fantasy’ means a lot to me because it represents both heartbreak and rebirth,” he explains. “It’s my first single as dove rd, so it marks a new beginning for me as an artist.”

With its rich production, heartfelt lyricism and introspective atmosphere, ‘Fantasy’ offers a compelling introduction to dove rd's evolving sound and an exciting glimpse into what comes next.
