Leah Cleaver - BABY, DON’T MOVE (EP)

East London singer-songwriter Leah Cleaver continues her impressive rise with the release of her vibrant six-track EP, BABY, DON’T MOVE. Following a breakthrough 2025 and recognition on the NME 100 list for 2026, Leah delivers an adventurous project that celebrates Black queer love, friendship, identity and finding joy amidst life's chaos.

Blending futuristic electronica, bass-heavy alternative pop and her unmistakably soulful vocals, the EP showcases Leah's wonderfully unpredictable approach to songwriting. Opener ‘LIKE, YEH’ makes an immediate impact with its thunderous bass and hypnotic melodies, while ‘UMA’ explores the dizzying excitement of infatuation through infectious breakbeats. The atmospheric ‘HOME’ takes things into darker, more introspective territory, combining hazy synths with post-dubstep influences.

Elsewhere, ‘COUNTRY CLUB’ champions individuality and inclusive spaces, while the uplifting ‘SUNSHINE DAZE’ captures the magic of carefree summer moments spent with friends. Closing title track ‘BABY DON’T MOVE’ brings everything together with a heartfelt celebration of self-worth, gratitude and personal growth, complete with soaring gospel-inspired harmonies.

Describing the inspiration behind the project, Leah explains: “These songs are a love letter to all my people. My first project felt like an introduction to me, and now this is an introduction to them.”

Building on the foundations of her acclaimed debut EP Pushing Up Flowers, Leah continues to establish herself as one of the UK's most exciting emerging talents. Bold, playful and bursting with personality, BABY, DON’T MOVE is a wonderfully expressive body of work that celebrates the people who shape us, while demonstrating an artist growing increasingly confident in her own distinctive sound.
