Amahla - Only Yours For The Moment (Official Video)

East London singer-songwriter Amahla returns with ‘Only Yours For The Moment’, a vibrant slice of '70s-inspired funk and soul that showcases her sharp storytelling and unmistakable vocals. Produced by WAVSDNTDIE and released via 7WALLACE, the track blends infectious drum breaks, silky congas, sweeping strings and punchy horns as Amahla navigates suspicion, jealousy and the possibility of jumping to conclusions.

Written in a single sitting following an unexpected phone call, the song captures Amahla's instinctive approach to songwriting. “I called a guy I was seeing and heard a woman's voice in the background. Could've been his mum, for all I know, but I didn't care. I hung up, made a drum beat, sat at the piano and finished the whole song before dinner.” Drawing on her Caribbean heritage and influences ranging from Nina Simone to Stevie Wonder, Amahla continues to carve out her own space within contemporary British soul. Having earned recognition from the Ivor Novello Awards and mentorship from Nile Rodgers, ‘Only Yours For The Moment’ is another compelling reminder of her ability to turn everyday experiences into richly textured, emotionally engaging music.
