BODUR x Coby Sey - BOX OF TRICKS (EP)

Two of London's most forward-thinking experimental artists, BODUR and Coby Sey, have joined forces for their collaborative three-track EP, BOX OF TRICKS. Following lead single ‘LEAVE’, the project brings together their distinctive approaches to alternative R&B, electronic music and experimental production, exploring themes of youth, class, displacement and missed opportunities.

Written and produced alongside Gabriel Gifford, with additional production from Harvey Causon on ‘Again’, the EP balances unconventional soundscapes with deeply personal storytelling. The title track began life as a stream of consciousness poem, inspired by global conflict and the displacement of children, with BODUR drawing on the traditional British magpie nursery rhyme to reflect the unsettling nature of today's news cycle.

The collaboration came together after a mutual friend introduced the pair in 2025, sparking an immediate creative connection. Having already established herself through her acclaimed debut album MAQAM and ambitious SECOND LANGUAGE project, BODUR continues to push artistic boundaries, while Sey brings the experimental instincts that have shaped his work with Mica Levi, Tirzah and Dean Blunt.

Both vulnerable and adventurous, BOX OF TRICKS captures two artists operating beyond conventional genre boundaries, delivering a thought-provoking project that reflects the creative energy of London's underground music community.
