London’s own Soulful Emma-Louise (S.E.L) returns with a brand-new single, teaming up once again with Italian producer and long-time collaborator Michele Chiavarini. Their latest release, ‘Up’ via Quantize Recordings, is a slick slice of dance-floor soul, blending Chiavarini’s polished musicianship with S.E.L’s unmistakable, heart-on-sleeve vocals.

On remix duty, Quantize label-mates MicFreak and DJ Spen bring Baltimore house energy into the mix. Their bumping House Mix and percussive, afro-infused Unda Da Ground Mix give DJs plenty to work with, whether you’re vibing in the club or losing yourself on the festival floor.

For those new to her story, S.E.L has been a key figure in the UK soul scene for years. From touring globally with Soul II Soul to scoring No.1s on the UK Soul charts with her solo album Loc’d in Consciousness, she’s consistently delivered music that connects. After stepping back briefly in 2021 to focus on motherhood, this new chapter sees her re-energised, with more projects already on the horizon alongside DJ Spen and Chiavarini.

Chiavarini, meanwhile, is no stranger to the spotlight. With a career spanning three decades and credits alongside everyone from Diana Ross and Donna Summer to David Morales and Mousse-T, his reputation as a producer and arranger speaks for itself.
