Temi T Returns with “Painted Intentions”.

British-Nigerian spoken word artist Temi T is back with her most vulnerable release yet. Her new single, Painted Intentions, blends spoken word with jazz, R&B and hip-hop to explore grief, friendship breakdown and self-reclamation.

The track was inspired by the end of a decade-long friendship, capturing the quiet heartbreak of being misunderstood and misrepresented. “People can paint their own versions of you in their mind and treat you according to that image,” Temi explains. “Recording this was my way of finding closure and healing.”

With layered, soulful production and deeply introspective lyricism, Painted Intentions marks Temi’s growth as both an artist and storyteller. Fans of Noname, Little Simz, Arlo Parks and ENNY will find much to connect with here.

The single follows her acclaimed 2023 debut album Love Is Not a Medicine — home to viral favourite Summer Romance — and builds anticipation for her next full-length project, due in 2025. Having already graced stages from Soho House to Africa’s Biggest Talk Concert, Temi T continues to expand the boundaries of spoken word and music, carving out a space that’s uniquely hers.
