PREMIERE: Endaf & Ruby - To You, From Me (Single) + 10 Questions
North Wales’ Endaf & Ruby Deliver Soulful Magic on “To You, From Me”.
Producer Endaf and singer-songwriter Ruby have teamed up for To You, From Me—a lush slice of neo-soul built on swung, J Dilla-inspired drums and wrapped in dusty, understated textures. The track’s gentle production leaves space for Ruby’s delicate, emotive vocal to shine, resulting in a song that feels both intimate and timeless.
Endaf has quickly become one of Wales’ most exciting producers, with BBC Radio Cymru twice naming his work “Track of the Week” and his music gaining support from BBC Radio 1Xtra, BBC Radio Wales A-List, and Spotify editorial playlists.
Ruby, also from North Wales, has been turning heads with her reflective lyricism and warm vocal tone, from her debut feature on Boomkat’s Documenting Sound series to her recent singles Learn to Grow and Love Me Better.
As Kaptin Barret puts it: “With so much amazing RnB and Neo Soul coming out of South Wales it’s a lovely surprise to hear North Wales coming with such a beautiful refreshing sound.”
To You, From Me is out 15 August 2025 via High Grade Grooves.
Ruby sat down with Wordplay Magazine to answer our infamous 10 Questions:
1. So tell me, how did it all begin? What sparked your love for music?
I’ve always loved singing. Both of my parents are music enthusiasts, and music was always a way I connected with both of them, individually. Growing up, my dad played Reggae, Dub, Hip Hop, Soul and a lot more. My mum played folk, Indie rock, soul, R&B. My mum also has a beautiful singing voice!
2. Who are some artists that influence you and that you want to work with in the future?
I listen to female vocalists mainly. I love Pip Millet, Cleo Sol, Erykah Badu, Nectar Woode. All of these women have soulful, deep/soft, warm voices. They inspire me lyrically and vocally.
3. What projects do you have coming up and can you give us any info on them?
I have a single called “To you, From me”, coming out with Endaf on the 15th August. I also have various projects with other producers coming out soon such as King Kashmere, J Sparrow, Lordhiko.
4. How would you describe your sound?
I don’t stick to one genre or sound, I lean towards R&B, Neo Sol but I also love Dubstep, Hip Hop, UK Garage, and Liquid Drum and bass.
5. What's your proudest moment to date so far as an artist?
I have done so many amazing gigs with amazing people over the last 6 years. I’ve worked with incredible producers and artists. My proudest moment was a gig we had at a festival in Kidderminster; Audiofarm. It was our third year performing there and we had the biggest turnout. There were around 200 people in the crowd and we felt so supported and loved it was incredible.
6. Do you have any advice for our readers who may be trying to play the mad game of music?
Stay true to yourself and push boundaries. It’s important for your audience to continue engaging and I think being you, and being unique is what makes you engaging. Authenticity.
7. Are there any artists on your radar right now that we should check out?
Dani Offline. She is a singer/producer/composer from California. Her voice is stunning and her lyrics are striking. She’s captivating.
8. What albums are on heavy rotation on your Spotify playlist currently?
I truthfully rarely listen to albums. I listen to a huge variety of genres and singles. Most of the songs from Ghett’s album “Conflict Of Interest” (2021) are on my daily listening playlist so I would say that one!
9. What do you like to do when you're not making music?
I love to explore my surroundings. I live in North Wales so I’m surrounded by quarries, mountains, heathery hills, and endless fields so there’s plenty of picturesque places to go.
10. Name Three things you can't live without when in the studio?
Water, herbal tea and slippers!
