South-East London’s Stacy N.K.R & Oakland Announce ‘smooth fm’.

South-East London rapper Stacy N.K.R and rising producer oakland have announced their joint EP smooth fm, arriving 3rd September. The duo first linked on ‘cosmetic’—now they’re back with ‘your eyes’, a sharp, third-person exploration of situationships that blends Stacy’s razor lyricism with oakland’s genre-blurring production.

Written during studio sessions filled with candid conversations about modern relationships, ‘your eyes’ captures both the spark and tension of emotional entanglement. With bars like, “But he can’t commit? / She tries to flip the script? / questions him, he pleads the fifth,” Stacy distills generational truths over a soundscape fusing Grime, Rap, and R&B.

Stacy’s artistry is rooted in Kennington, where her early influences ranged from UK rap cyphers to her mother’s Ghanaian hiplife records, 90s R&B icons, and the soul of Erykah Badu. Since debuting with 2022’s ‘SE17’, she’s landed a Balamii Radio residency, performed at Southbank Centre’s Futuretense, and caught BBC 1Xtra’s ear—leading to her first link-up with oakland.

For his part, oakland has built a loyal following since 2023’s refix vol.1, with co-signs from Benji B, Children of Zeus, and COLORS. Known for his role in the “Mellow Grime” scene, he’s worked with Giggs, Ghetts, Wiz Khalifa, and Sainte, while growing his live presence with festival slots and brand collaborations.
