Freestyle Master Series - UK Rap Battle
Urban Roosters Launch UK Rap Battle Series with Judges Scorcher, Shotty Horroh & Lioness.
The new Battle Series is hosted by Top Boy’s Ash Barba, with DJ Ironik on the decks.
Urban Roosters, creators of the world’s only professional freestyle rap battle league, the Freestyle Master Series (FMS), have announced their first UK Battle Series, launching 3 December 2025.
The UK Battle Series marks the first step towards the launch of the first English-language FMS league, set to debut with live events in 2026.
The series will be hosted by actor Ash Barba (Top Boy) and will spotlight the next generation of freestyle talent as they face off in fully improvised, off-the-top rap battles. DJ Ironik joins the line-up as the show’s resident DJ, and UK rap heavyweights Shotty Horroh, Scorcher and Lioness will sit on the judging panel.
Founded in Spain and now followed by more than 32 million fans worldwide, Urban Roosters has redefined freestyle battle rap through its global FMS competitions as the only platform to truly professionalise the sport. FMS MCs earn a salary to compete, allowing top competitors to make freestyle rap battling a full-time career. The league regularly fills arenas of over 30,000 fans across Spain, Argentina, Mexico, Chile and throughout Latin America, reaching millions more online.
Urban Roosters UK is taking a 360 degree approach to artist development, offering each MC involved in the series a single deal with Urban Roosters Records, free studio time at partner Pirate Studios, mentorship from the Battle Series judges, and full marketing support.
Eight episodes of Urban Roosters’ UK Battle Series are confirmed. Episode One premieres on YouTube on 3 December 2025, with each episode filmed in a different UK location.
Hopeful UK MCs can get involved by uploading a 2 to 4 minute freestyle video on Lounges.tv, where the judges are actively scouting new talent.
