PREMIERE: Raiza - Mind Trip 3 (EP) + 10 Questions

South East London’s Raiza returns with Mind Trip 3, the final chapter in his introspective trilogy: a stripped back, cinematic dive into pressure, paranoia, ambition, and the mental cost of growth. Across five raw tracks, he delivers some of his sharpest, most deliberate writing yet, cutting straight to the core without theatrics or filler.

If you’ve followed Raiza’s rise through the UK underground from early BBC Radio support to co signs from heavyweights like Westside Boogie, Skinnyman, B Real, and even a nod from Nines, this project feels like the natural evolution. His trademark blend of boom bap, jazz, soul, and gritty London energy is still here, but the focus is tighter and the reflections hit harder.

Mind Trip 3 closes the trilogy with clarity: darker because Raiza’s perspective is more grounded, heavier because the honesty leaves nowhere to hide. It’s his most controlled, intentional work so far, and the perfect full circle moment for a series built on self examination.

The full EP lands December 5th, but Wordplay readers can dive into the first listen now via the link here. And Pre-Save here.

Raiza sat down with Wordplay Magazine to answer our infamous 10 Questions:

1. So tell me, how did it all begin? What sparked your love for music?

Music was always around me growing up. I first started producing and writing when I was young, before I was even making proper songs. It was the one place I could have fun and express myself without overthinking. I wasn’t chasing anything back then. The more life happened, the more the music grew with me.

2. Who are some artists that influence you and that you want to work with in the future?

2Pac, DMX and 50 Cent had a big impact on me. On the UK side: Giggs, Kano, Klashnekoff and plenty more I’m probably forgetting.

As for artists I’d like to work with: Kendrick, POZER, CASISDEAD, Nines, Kano and Knucks.

Producer-wise, Alchemist or Leaf Dog would be cold.

3. What projects do you have coming up and can you give us any info on them?

Right now the focus is Mind Trip 3, the final chapter of the trilogy. It’s darker, more controlled and more honest than anything I've dropped before. I’m really proud of this one and can’t wait for everyone to hear it.

After that, I’ve got a few singles lined up, and I’m planning a mixtape full of collabs, bringing back that old school feel. I’m already sketching ideas for the next body of work. The album will be the finale or maybe the beginning.

4. How would you describe your sound?

Raw, introspective, authentic and cinematic. Boom bap roots with darker tones and smoother elements, with that raw London energy running through it. I like my music to feel personal but still hit hard, so people going through something know they’re not alone. I’m here speaking for them and with them.

5. What's your proudest moment to date so far as an artist?

Nines showing love for Visions was mad. B-Real showing love was the most shocking for me. I grew up on Cypress Hill, so that one hit different. Moments like that remind you you’re on the right path for real.

6. Do you have any advice for readers trying to play the mad game of music?

Focus on the craft first. If you like your own music, that’s the first win.
Don’t chase trends, don’t rush and don’t compare your journey with anyone else’s.

Protect your energy, stay consistent and let the work speak for you.

7. Are there any artists on your radar right now that we should check out?

Ransom Badbonez, Sly Moon, Coops and Parallax. Lyricists with real intention and unique vibes.

8. What albums are on heavy rotation in your Spotify playlist currently?

A lot of DMX, Get Rich or Die Tryin’, All Eyez On Me, and a lot of Kendrick and Cole.

Also a mix of old-school boom bap and darker, cinematic music depending on my mood. Mac Miller, Nipsey Hussle, Prodigy. Bless the dead.

I listen to a lot of metal and alternative music too. I take inspiration from everywhere.

9. What do you like to do when you're not making music?

I’m mostly laid-back. Video games, movies, connecting with people who have the same vision, planning ideas, staying out of the way and staying focused. And most importantly, staying high.

10. Name three things you can't live without when in the studio?

A lot of water, plenty of beers and good vibes.
