Chxrry ushers in a new era with irresistible new single “Groupie”.

Rising R&B pop star Chxrry (formerly Chxrry22) has kicked off her next chapter with a dazzling new single, “Groupie,” out now via XO Records / Republic Records / Island Records UK.

On the sultry, love drunk track, lush strings and a hypnotic beat give way to Chxrry’s soaring vocals as she confesses, “I’m a superstar, but baby, for you I’m a groupie.” It’s a heady mix of confidence and vulnerability that captures the thrill and madness of infatuation.

Speaking about the song, Chxrry explains: “‘Groupie’ is about the intoxicating, irrational obsession that hits when you first like someone. The masked man represents desire itself, faceless because he could be anyone. Around him, you’re both powerful and undone.”

The new release follows her viral hit “Main Character,” which racked up millions of streams and became the unofficial anthem of the summer. The track was championed by ESSENCE GU, Rated R&B, and i-D, while celebs from Chlöe Bailey to Love Island’s Amaya Papaya jumped on the trend.

It’s been a whirlwind year for the Toronto born singer, from joining FLO on their sold out Access All Areas Tour, to performing alongside Rema and featuring on The Weeknd’s Hurry Up Tomorrow album.
