J-Province was born in Trinidad and Tobago and moved to London in the 90s. He started writing Sometimes after he and his fiancee had fallen out during a holiday together. It was nasty and out of character for them both. Which got him to thinking whether it was a sign that they should separate. Caught in the middle of that dilemma, J’s father reminded him to take his time. Not to rush any decisions while he was upset. Coupled with the fact that his producer had sent him the beat just 2 days before. It felt like providence.

J-Province says: In my music, I always put messages all over his lyrics. Some have double meanings whilst others can have triple. For 'Sometimes' I wanted To help and inspire those who may be going through hard times with their significant other to come to a resolution and work things out, to highlight some of the ways that the people who love us can be the most hurtful, that no one is perfect and accepting the flaws between each other is part of love itself. When we are stressed out, it is hard to make important decisions. And no one should make a decision to leave or stay out of anger. Take time to love, but even longer to hate.

Sometimes was released on all major music platforms as of Feb 19th 2021.
