Hackney singer songwriter Amahla returns with the jazz hued new single ‘Sticky’, produced by WAVSDNTDIE and released via 7WALLACE. The track finds Amahla exploring the irresistible push and pull of love, lust and knowing when to let go.

Built around an infectious bassline, playful melodies and jazz inspired scatting, ‘Sticky’ also draws on Amahla’s love of Latin dance and the freedom she finds through movement. “As soon as I heard the bassline, I knew it was iconic,” she explains. “For the first time I could feel how the instruments connected to my body. I wanted every line to feel irresistible.”

Raised in Hackney in a Guyanese Jamaican family, Amahla brings together influences from jazz, reggae, Motown, soul and Black British music, with Nina Simone, Eartha Kitt and Stevie Wonder among her inspirations. Following acclaimed releases, international live dates and a sold out show at the Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room, ‘Sticky’ marks another compelling step forward, leaning deeper into her jazz roots while capturing all the messiness, temptation and excitement of desire.
