Tru:FRAZ - Sesh Fiend Confession Tape (Album)

UK/NZ hip hop artist Tru:FRAZ lays everything on the table with his debut album Sesh Fiend Confession Tape, a raw 16-track project built from stories, confessions and some of the most chaotic chapters of his life.

Rooted in UK underground hip hop while pulling from his experiences living in Aotearoa, the record moves between dark humour and introspection as Tru tackles addiction, partying, relationships, grief, self-destruction and mental battles. Central to the album are the different sides of his personality: Fraser, the person underneath it all, Fraz, the artist turning experience into music, and Frazzle, the character often responsible for the chaos in the first place.

Tracks including ‘Where U Been?’, ‘Letter To My Soul’, personal favourite ‘Stress’ and focus track ‘MAD’ help shape a project that feels less like a polished retrospective and more like an open diary. The album is also dedicated to his late friend Chloe, known as Sploosh, whose influence helped spark his musical journey.

Now back in the UK after returning from New Zealand at the end of 2025, Tru sees Sesh Fiend Confession Tape as a starting point rather than a conclusion. “The biggest achievement for me personally has been getting this album finished and turning what was a pretty mad period of my life into an actual body of work that I'm proud of,” he says. “Five years deep, but somehow I feel like I'm only just getting started.”
