Reuben Aziz - Real U (Single)

Southampton born, London based artist Reuben Aziz continues his rise with new single ‘Real U’, a stripped back and deeply personal release that was already making waves online before its official arrival.

First teased through a TikTok snippet, the track quickly gathered momentum before Aziz performed it at his sold out London headline show in August, where fans were already singing the chorus word for word. Built around gentle guitar-led self production and his soulful vocals, ‘Real U’ captures the small details of lingering attachment, with lines such as “I check your reposts every once in a while” giving the track its raw, relatable edge.

Reuben explains that the song began during a writing session in New York, with much of it emerging naturally through freestyling. “The lyrics come from a real place and I’m in a stage in my life where the music speaks for itself,” he says. “I hope this next phase of music will be timeless.”

Following this summer’s ‘Mind the Gap’, ‘Real U’ pushes Aziz further into a more intentional, faith led chapter. Blending soul, alternative music, rap and guitar driven songwriting, the largely self-produced artist continues to favour honesty and feeling over genre, with ‘Real U’ offering another glimpse at where his evolving sound is heading.
