DrewsThatDude - Greed (Single)

Brooklyn based producer and artist DrewsThatDude steps back into the spotlight with ‘Greed’, a slick fusion of R&B, disco-funk and electronic club music packed with groove and cinematic detail.

The two time Grammy nominated, Berklee trained producer has built an impressive résumé, contributing to records from Lil Wayne and Mac Miller, alongside collaborations with EARTHGANG, Jeezy and T-Pain. His own catalogue has also clocked up more than 20 million streams.

On ‘Greed’, shimmering synths, strings, wah-wah guitars and a driving disco rhythm pull from the late ’70s and early ’80s while keeping one foot firmly on the contemporary dancefloor. Beneath that euphoric exterior, however, sits something darker.

“Greed is the sin that dresses the best,” DrewsThatDude explains. “That's why it's a disco record. It's supposed to feel like the best night of your life while it's taking something from you.”

The track also feeds into his wider creative world through We Had Our Time, with DrewsThatDude currently scoring his original graphic novel Relapse entirely with his own music. ‘Greed’ offers another glimpse at an artist increasingly blurring the boundaries between producer, songwriter and storyteller.
