Argentine rap star TRUENO has unveiled the striking new video for ‘PUMAS’, his collaboration with fellow Argentine artist Milo J, taken from his latest album, TURR4ZO.
Filmed on the outskirts of Buenos Aires and directed by Clemente Bruzzone and Agustín Puente of The Movement, the black and white visual draws on the symbolism of the puma, a nocturnal predator that moves unseen through the darkness. The video mirrors the track’s themes of resilience and identity, with TRUENO reflecting on the immigrant experience shared by many Latin American families.
‘PUMAS’ has quickly become the standout track from TURR4ZO, racking up more than 20 million streams. The song incorporates references to Latin American musical heritage, including elements inspired by Facundo Cabral’s classic “No Soy de Aquí Ni Soy de Allá” and Chaqueño Palavecino’s “Cuando Llora Mi Guitarra”.
The release arrives shortly after a major night for TRUENO at Argentina’s prestigious Gardel Awards, where he picked up four trophies, including two alongside Milo J for their hit ‘Gil’.
Released in April, TURR4ZO has already surpassed 100 million streams worldwide and debuted at No. 4 on Spotify’s Global Albums Debut chart. Widely regarded as TRUENO’s most ambitious project to date, the album further cements his position as one of the leading voices in contemporary Spanish-language hip-hop.
UK fans will get the chance to see TRUENO live later this month when he joins Gorillaz at their sold-out show at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on 20 June, ahead of a global run of dates spanning Europe, Latin America, the United States and Japan.
