Peckham’s own PS Hitsquad has announced his long awaited debut album Life on Licence, landing July 3 via House Anxiety alongside the release of new single Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda.

But this isn’t just another drill project. PS is positioning Life on Licence as something bigger: a cinematic, deeply personal body of work that explores trauma, institutionalisation and survival, while pushing beyond the traditional boundaries of UK drill into what he calls “post drill”.

Built as a fully conceptual album rather than a collection of singles, the project captures PS reflecting on his rise from Peckham’s Zone 2 movement to becoming one of the UK’s most compelling rap voices. Sonically, Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda hints at that evolution, blending melodic hooks, hazy production and introspective lyricism.

The album also boasts a stacked feature list, including Unknown T, Cristale, Joshua Baraka and Chicago drill heavyweight VonOff1700, alongside production from US names connected to Chief Keef and Lil Durk.

For anyone who’s followed PS since the early Zone 2 days, or through breakout moments like Guten Tag, this feels like the beginning of a new chapter. Less focused on proving himself within drill, more focused on redefining what UK rap can sound like.

With major co signs already rolling in and a forthcoming SXSW London performance lined up, Life on Licence could mark the moment PS Hitsquad fully steps into a lane of his own.
