GENA - The Pleasure Is Yours (Album)

GENA, vocalist and songwriter Liv.e and drummer and producer Karriem Riggins release their debut album, The Pleasure Is Yours.

Alongside the duo’s spirited and playful LP, the pair have also dropped the official video for Douwannabwitastar!?, directed by Mackai Sharp.

After performing some low-key shows together in 2025 under the mysterious moniker GENA, short for God Energy, Naturally Amazing, Liv.e (pronounced "liv") and Riggins are ready to step forward with The Pleasure Is Yours.  Blending elements of jazz, soul, R&B, and hip hop, the album finds Liv.e’s agile vocals weaving deftly through Riggins’ warm, percussive soundscapes.

Karriem Riggins is simply one of the most respected drummers and beatmakers in contemporary music, having collaborated with Common, Erykah Badu, The Roots, Madlib, Norah Jones, and forged a lasting kinship with the late, great J Dilla.

Liv.e is an artist who thrives on experimentation, from her acclaimed solo debut Couldn’t Wait To Tell You… to 2023’s breakout Girl In The Half Pearl.  She supported Earl Sweatshirt on tour during November and December and her previous collaborators include MIKE, Venna and Pink Siifu.
