Mamas Gun ft: Brian Jackson - DIG! (Single)

UK soul favourites Mamas Gun are back with DIG!, the second single and title track from their forthcoming album and it is a special one. The song features none other than Brian Jackson, whose work with legends like Stevie Wonder and Gil Scott Heron helped shape the very foundations of modern soul.

Recorded straight to analogue tape, DIG! leans fully into Mamas Gun’s signature warmth. Rich grooves, lived in musicianship and a message that feels especially timely. Lyrically, it is about looking beyond the surface, questioning appearances and digging deeper to find what really matters in an increasingly noisy world.

The collaboration has a long backstory. Frontman Andy Platts first met Jackson back in 2006, at the very start of his career, and their paths have crossed many times since. Nearly twenty years later, with DIG! almost complete and Jackson touring the UK, the moment finally felt right. One studio session, fuelled by conversation, laughter, food and drink, was all it took.

The result is a track both artists feel destined to make together. Soulful, thoughtful and effortlessly timeless.
