Bristol trio Elder Island are stepping into a bright new chapter. Today 11 February they announced their third album Hello Baby Okay and share its latest single Pink Lemon, a sun soaked, groove led release that leans fully into joy, movement and escapism.

Built on warm guitars, silky rhythms and Katy Sargent’s unmistakable vocal, Pink Lemon feels immediate and playful, balancing dancefloor momentum with hazy, retro tinged nostalgia. There are nods to early Blood Orange and Phoenix, but the track’s personality is unmistakably Elder Island, expansive, soulful and designed to lift both bodies and moods.

The band describe the song as an antidote to monotony, dreaming of being whisked away from the everyday, inspired by the glow of old analogue holiday photos and shaped using classic 90s filters associated with Daft Punk. The result is bright, nostalgic soul pop with a carefree pulse.

That sense of release runs through Hello Baby Okay as a whole. Where 2021’s Swimming Static was meticulously constructed in the studio, the new record emerged from freer jam sessions, reconnecting the trio with spontaneity and the kinetic energy of their live shows. Rooted in 90s club culture and threaded with funk leaning guitars and hypnotic vocals, it’s a record where hedonism and devotion comfortably coexist.

To mark the announcement, Elder Island will play two intimate shows at Bristol’s Strange Brew on 25 March and London’s Oslo on 26 March, offering an early taste of the album. It’s a fitting way to introduce a release defined by openness, instinct and a renewed connection to the dancefloor.
