Armani White sat down with Wordplay Magazine to answer our infamous 10 Questions:

1. So tell me, how did it all begin? What sparked your love for music?

I used to write songs on the back of the programming pamphlets in Church. Then from there I started writing stories that went with my favorite cartoon characters and making songs from their perspective. It made me fall in love with how imaginative I could be with literature and storytelling. It became a full on escape from the real world.

2. Who are some artists that influence you and that you want to work with in the future?

Janelle Monae, Kanye West, Andre 3000, Eminem.

3. What projects do you have coming up and can you give us any info on them?

I made a mixtape called armaniWTF. It’s inspired by how the world sounded in 2007. And when I first started to record myself and we didn’t have any plug ins so you just had to double your vocals, hahaha. That’s where all these recent songs have been coming from.

4. How would you describe your sound?

2007. It looks, sounds, and feels like 2007.

5. What's your proudest moment to date so far as an artist?

My grandpop was on hospice and I bought my grandpop an iPad so he could watch me perform from his bed still.

6. Do you have any advice for our readers who may be trying to play the mad game of music?

Don’t worry about the numbers too much, just have fun, everything’s broken anyways. Make what you love and people will find their way to you.

7. Are there any artists on your radar right now that we should check out?

Lamb, Underscores and Jeon Somi. Anybody else i’m Gatekeeping rn.

8. What albums are on heavy rotation on your Spotify playlist currently?

808s and Heartbreak and Blonde because the weather is getting cold. Those are seasonal albums for me. The same way you watch Christmas movies in December.

9. What do you like to do when you're not making music?

I recently started learning Piano, so that takes up a lot of my free time. Otherwise i’m working out, I wake up at 5am for the gym everyday. And I play Call of Duty on weekends until GTA VI comes out! And I watch Smiling Friends, Rick and Morty and other cartoons. I do that even when I am making music.

10. Name Three things you can't live without when in the studio?

Pretzels, Uno cards and my Nintendo Switch.
