Kemikali returns with new single “Steel Sharpens Steel”.

Eatmybeat’s head chef and lyrical swordsman, Kemikali, is back with his sharpest work yet – Steel Sharpens Steel, a grime-fuelled three-track project that cuts straight to the core of discipline, consistency, and graft.

Following on from his debut Hypothesise This, Kemikali takes things up a level, showing how pressure makes diamonds. Each track is a sparring session – testing flows, flexing wit, and pushing his artistry further.

We open with “Up the Tempo”, a high-energy ride laced with wordplay and cultural nods, balancing humour with reflections on choices and consequences. Next comes “Relevant”, where Kemikali dissects social media culture – algorithms, fake followers, dopamine traps – calling out the empty chase for clout while championing authenticity. Finally, the title track “Steel Sharpens Steel” lands like a battle cry: punchy, spiritual, and fiercely grimey, it’s Kemikali at his most focused and uncompromising.

Scientist by day, rapper by night, Kemikali has long fused intellect with raw wordplay – and here he sounds sharper than ever. With over a decade running eatmybeat, countless sets, and years of lyrical training, this project feels like a statement of intent: growth, mastery, and levelling up.
