Victoria Port Announces New EP Barefoot In The Garden.

Victoria Port — best known as one half of electronic-soul duo Anushka — is back with her second solo project, Barefoot In The Garden, out 7 November on First Word Records. The title track, out now, sets the tone: a mid-tempo groove blending dreamy synths, slick guitar licks and a hook that stays with you. She’s joined by long-time collaborators Hemai and JNR Williams, with further contributions from drummer Moses Boyd and vocalist Lea Lea across the EP.

Speaking about the single, Port says: “I’m savouring those pure moments of connection with people I love and with the strangers I meet. That’s what this song is all about, finding the pure, wholesome things that give your life purpose and meaning.”

Crafted between Abbey Road Studios and her home setup Candle Shop, the five-track EP builds on her debut Did It Again, weaving classic soul influences with modern production. The result is a lush, timeless sound that nods to legends like Minnie Riperton and Gladys Knight while sitting comfortably alongside contemporary names such as SAULT and Cleo Sol.

With early support from tastemakers including Gilles Peterson, Cerys Matthews and Huey Morgan, Port continues to carve out her own path in modern British soul.
