Solomon Fox Releases Debut Album Sweettooth.
Multi-instrumentalist, producer and rising solo artist Solomon Fox has unveiled his long-awaited debut album Sweettooth — a 13-track, self-produced project five years in the making.
Blending soulful grooves, punk-tinged grit and indie-psych textures, the record is both expansive and intimate — a journal of heartbreak, healing, temptation and self-discovery. Fox plays almost every instrument himself, channelling influences as diverse as D’Angelo, Bon Iver, Erykah Badu, Fleet Foxes, Jill Scott and Radiohead, while drawing collaborators Duckwrth, Amaria and Mai Anna into the mix.
The focus track, “Starry Eyes” (ft. Duckwrth), captures the fleeting glamour of LA through a punk-infused lens. Its video — directed by Jamal Peters (Doja Cat, H.E.R., Mariah Carey) — reimagines the song as a 70s late-night TV performance, complete with house band theatrics and a muse watching from the wings.
Fox describes the album as “an introduction to a new storyteller”, finally opening the door to songwriting he’s kept under wraps until now. From the funk-laced swagger of Hush Hush, to the neo-soul warmth of Fallin’ Back with Amaria, and the alt-psych swirl of Reconcile, Sweettooth promises an emotional and stylistic journey that defies easy categorisation.
Already acclaimed for his production work with Smino, Thundercat and Duckwrth, Fox is no stranger to critical praise — his 2021 mixtape Solomon landed support from NPR and Spotify, while more recent viral singles “weird” and “you don’t cook” have drawn millions of streams and high-profile co-signs.
Sweettooth cements Fox’s place as a boundary-pushing voice in contemporary music. He’ll be taking the album on the road this autumn with dates across the US and UK, including a London headline at Ronnie Scott’s on 21 November.
