House of EL - When All Else Fails (EP)

House of EL releases When All Else Fails EP.

Multi-disciplinary artist House of EL has unveiled his new EP When All Else Fails, released via independent label WUNDERKID. Known for blending genres into soulful, thought-provoking soundscapes, he continues to carve out a reputation as one of the UK’s most intriguing voices.

The five-track project reflects on the lack of emotional depth in modern relationships, exploring themes of truth versus deception on songs such as “Dirty Tricks” and “Say It Ain’t So”. Elsewhere, “Coda (Sunshine)” offers a radiant, summer-ready feel, while “Mistakes?..” delivers a more sombre edge, showcasing House of EL’s versatility.

Speaking on the EP, he explained: “When All Else Fails looks at how numb we’ve become to each other… but where there are people, there’s still hope. That’s what ‘GreenFields’ and ‘Sunshine’ are about, finding light in all the noise.”

Backed by tastemaker support from Notion, COLORS, BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6, and Spotify’s key playlists, House of EL continues to move beyond hype. The project is the vision of acclaimed producer and multi-instrumentalist Kieron McIntosh, whose credits span Janelle Monáe, Alicia Keys, Paloma Faith, and Becky Hill & Chase & Status’s platinum hit “Disconnect”.

Rooted in jazz but unafraid to experiment, his sound draws from Stevie Wonder, Massive Attack, Miles Davis, and Joy Division, while his music has already featured in campaigns for Lancôme and soundtracks for Hanna, The Equalizer and NBA 2K.

With When All Else Fails, House of EL proves once again that he isn’t chasing trends — he’s creating timeless art.
