Low.bō Unveils husk: A Raw Portrait of Love and Loss.
Baltimore-born artist and producer Low.bō has released his debut album husk—a 12-track journey that captures the beauty, bruises, and blurred edges of love unravelled. Self-produced and deeply personal, the record explores what we hold onto, what we let go of, and the emotions that linger long after heartbreak.
Blending alternative, R&B, indie, and grunge, husk moves from atmospheric beginnings on “EASTSIDE” to the groove-driven “AQUARIUS + LEO,” before diving into the push-and-pull of connection and collapse with tracks like “REDLINE” and “c’est la vie.” Standout moments include the falsetto-led vulnerability of “FALLOUT,” the haunting intimacy of “party’s over,” and the tender confessions of “blur” and “niya.” The album closes with “lines,” a fittingly unresolved ending that leaves love’s story open and unfinished.
A self-taught producer, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist, Low.bō grew up singing in church and later turned to music during a period of isolation and depression. His ascent has been steady but striking, with recognition from Billboard, COLORS, OVO Sound Radio, and a cover spot on Spotify’s Vanguard playlist.
Following his acclaimed projects CIRCA (2023) and IMPALA (2024), husk sees Low.bō step into a new chapter—unafraid to expose the fragility, tension, and hope at the heart of human connection.
Low.bō sat down with Wordplay Magazine to answer our infamous 10 Questions:
1. So tell me, how did it all begin? What sparked your love for music?
Honestly it felt inescapable, music has always been a part of my life from my mom playing the Commodores to Jill Scott; It’s been the soundtrack to so many significant events in my life… the real question is what would my life look like without it?
2. Who are some artists that influence you and that you want to work with in the future?
I’m influenced a lot by a shit ton of music, my ear has been a lot into MIKE & Nick Hakim lately, Them, Amie Blu, Greek are also crazy too. I'd love to work with them. Nali’s been going crazy too and this dude named 646yf4t…fire music.
3. What projects do you have coming up and can you give us any info on them?
I’m releasing an album named husk; It’s definitely the rawest shit I’ve ever written and I just want people to resonate with the stories whether it’s literally or metaphorically.
4. How would you describe your sound?
Damn I don’t know. I just make what feels right for me in my life; I don’t want to put it in a box, you know… it’s just expensive in my opinion.
5. What's your proudest moment to date so far as an artist?
Honestly this album. I really put a lot of myself into this, and I don’t know what's gonna come from it, but whatever it is I'm really just proud to get this out.

Be real to yourself. Stay the course. Read your contracts. I repeat, read your contracts.

8. What albums are on heavy rotation on your Spotify playlist currently?
Won’t lie this been top 5 right now.

9. What do you like to do when you're not making music?
I spend a lot of time alone so I’ve been actively pushing myself to not say no to things when invited out. I don’t want to be older asking myself why the fuck I missed out on things happening around me. I also really like to travel and do roadtrips and shit, can’t go wrong with a random adventure for real.
10. Name Three things you can't live without when in the studio?
My cat (he really my producer), my notebook, water haha.
