Somewhere Soul Launches Debut Compilation 'Rituals – Volume 1'.
After nearly a decade of championing the best in underground Soul, Jazz, and electronic music, Somewhere Soul—the passion project of tastemaker Josh Mason-Quinn—steps into a bold new chapter with its debut vinyl release: Rituals – Volume 1.
Carefully curated as a 24-hour sonic journey from sunrise to the late-night dancefloor, this double LP brings together 20 brand-new tracks from a truly global roster. From the smooth stylings of Allysha Joy and Finn Rees to UK heavyweights like Blue Lab Beats, Amanda Whiting and Matt Wilde, the compilation captures a wide spectrum of sounds, unified by a shared emotional depth and richness.
Josh describes Rituals as a love letter to the music that has shaped his journey over the past nine years—music that’s been there through every moment, big and small. "From soothing my daughter with Ezra Collective to spinning soulful house in clubs, this project reflects my daily ritual with music,” he shares.
Released via RE:WARM (home to Luke Una’s cult compilations), Rituals – Volume 1 is more than just a collection—it’s a celebration of intentional listening and the deep bonds forged through sound. With contributions from emerging names and scene veterans alike, it’s a powerful reminder that, wherever you are in the world, music has your back.
