IDYL - Illusion (Official Video)

IDYL Unveils Debut Single ‘Illusion’ — A Dreamlike Dive Into Growing Up.

Rising Belgian artist IDYL has released Illusion, the first single from her forthcoming EP Naïve, via cult label Capitane Records. Blending poetic lyricism with sleek production from Simon Le Saint (Stromae, Aya Nakamura), the track introduces a striking new voice on the French-language pop scene.

With crystal clear vocals and emotive storytelling, ‘Illusion’ captures the bittersweet passage from childhood to adulthood, the moment when comforting dreams fade and reality sets in. IDYL’s lyrics trace the doubts and hopes of a generation grappling with eco anxiety, loneliness and uncertainty about the future.

“This song invites us to face our disillusions yet also to believe in light, empathy and solidarity,” says IDYL.

Drawing comparisons to Angèle and France Gall, IDYL’s sound moves gracefully between pop freshness and heartfelt sincerity. ‘Illusion’ offers an intimate glimpse into Naïve, an EP set to land in early 2026.

Already known for her bilingual songwriting and genre blending style, from country pop to electro folk, IDYL has shared stages with Gaël Faye and Sarah Carlier, and performed at venues such as Ancienne Belgique and Botanique. With ‘Illusion’, she cements her place as one of Belgium’s most promising new voices, crafting songs that shimmer with both melancholy and hope.
