Summer Walker Closes Her R&B Trilogy With Finally Over It.

Grammy nominated R&B force Summer Walker has officially returned with her third studio album Finally Over It completing the trilogy that began with 2019’s Over It and 2021’s Still Over It. The release lands as her single “Heart Of A Woman” earns two Grammy nominations marking a major moment in her career.

This new era is arguably Summer’s most self assured yet. In the run up to the album she delivered a string of playful viral moments from a 90s style hotline advert and blurred DSP covers to a lie detector teaser confirming fan theory collaborations. She even launched a Finally Over It escape room in Atlanta and sent a branded dump truck around the city to collect fans’ memorabilia from ex partners.

The album arrives as a dual disc experience split into For Better and For Worse. Together they explore the tenderness contradictions and emotional lessons of modern love. For Better leans into self worth and reflection while For Worse imagines a world where luxury replaces intimacy. Across 18 tracks Summer weighs her choices with her most unfiltered storytelling to date.

Collaborators on the project include a star studded list: Chris Brown, Latto, Mariah the Scientist, Bryson Tiller, Teddy Swims, GloRilla, Sexyy Red, Brent Faiyaz, 21 Savage, Anderson .Paak, The Dream, Jeremih and more.

Alongside the album Summer has also shared the video for “FMT” directed by Child. Set in a barren almost spiritual landscape it opens with a cleansing ritual and a grounding message of release and renewal.

Ahead of launch Summer spoke candidly about the album’s clarity saying “I came out of my funk… I can finally take the baggage off and just be happy.”

With recent highlights including a standout Wireless Festival performance a BET Her Award and a run of major tour dates Summer Walker continues to cement her place as one of R&B’s defining voices. Finally Over It closes a cultural trilogy that turns heartbreak into art and evolution into something powerful.
