De La Soul ft: Q-Tip & Yummy Bingham - Day In The Sun (Gettin’ Wit U) (Single)

Hip hop legends De La Soul have released their new single Day In The Sun (Gettin’ Wit U), featuring Q-Tip and Yummy Bingham.  Watch the official visualiser below. 

“This record is about gratitude, joy, and rebirth,” says Posdnuos of De La Soul.  “We’ve been through storms, and now it’s time to stand back in the sun.”  Produced by Supa Dave West, the track is a fun, uplifting offering that reunites De La Soul with longtime friend and fellow Native Tongues collaborator Q-Tip.  Their decades deep creative chemistry shines through, while Yummy Bingham adds sugary sweet vocals for an extra hit of warmth and soul.

Day In The Sun (Gettin’ Wit U) is taken from De La Soul’s 10th studio album, Cabin In The Sky, out next Friday, 21 November via Mass Appeal.

In addition to Q-Tip and Yummy Bingham, the album boasts an impressive lineup of collaborators, including Killer Mike, Yukimi Nagano (Little Dragon), Nas, and Black Thought, with production from DJ Premiere, Pete Rock and De La Soul themselves.

Cabin In The Sky marks De La Soul’s first new album in nine years, and their first since the passing of beloved founding member Trugoy the Dove (David Jolicoeur) in 2023.  The project stands as both a celebration of their legacy and a testament to their enduring creativity.

The album is also the sixth instalment in Mass Appeal’s Legend Has It… series, a seven part tribute to New York hip hop trailblazers.  The series has so far featured new releases from Slick Rick, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Mobb Deep, and Big L, and will conclude later this year with a joint album from Nas & DJ Premier.
