The Offline ft: Kimo Eiserbeck - Le trip (Single)

Hamburg based multi instrumentalist and producer The Offline (AKA Felix Müller) continues with the advancement of his hip hop leaning, library tinged cinematic world building, continuing the rollout of his second full length album, ‘La grande evasion’ with the final single ‘Le trip’. Released on Thursday 30th October via DeepMatter Records, the single sees Felix reconnect with his friend and serial collaborator, saxophonist Kimo Eiserbeck, for a psychedelic, jazz infused boom bap cut.

Alongside the single, he recently announced his first ever run of live dates, and will be bringing The Offline live show to cities across Europe between February and April 2026.

Commenting on the inspiration for ‘Le trip’, Felix shares: “Ever licked a toad in the jungle? Me neither, but this track is the idea of what could happen if it ever came to that. This song is a psychedelic journey with a stunning saxophone improvisation by Kimo Eiserbeck, sitting somewhere between Badbadnotgood and Japanese jazz funk from the 70s.”

Releasing on Friday 28th November via DeepMatter Records, ‘La grande evasion’ reflects an escape into the unknown, grounded in memory, photography, place, and inner travel. It traces a voyage that taps into freedom and the search for identity, one that The Offline characterises as “one of the oldest and most powerful motifs in human storytelling, which can be found in myths, literature, film and music.” Lead single ‘Boulevard National’ took the setting of the musical story back to the streets of Marseilles, the city that The Offline’s 2024 ‘Les Cigales’ EP was written in tribute to, whilst follow up ‘Nikonos V’ sat somewhere between the blissed out atmosphere of the likes of Khruangbin, Offthewally and Tommy Guerrero.

On the album, he comments further: “La grande evasion (the great escape) is an escape into music, giving the listener the opportunity to be in other places through imagination alone. Just like a real trip, you go through different chapters during this journey, with all the facets and influences that affect you. It tells of the departure, the daring, the beauty, the unknown. It tells the story of saying goodbye and arriving back home with all the memories you have collected along the way. The music on this album is thematically and stylistically more open, but still moves in The Offline cosmos with reference to the music of the 60s and 70s.”

The Offline (AKA Felix Müller) first came to life when Felix travelled the Atlantic coastline in the south of France with his analogue camera, capturing beach life on film. After returning to his native Hamburg, he started writing songs as the sonic counterpart to the analogue visuals. Debut EP ‘En Clair-Obscur’ captured the essence of his journey, and the feeling of a cool summer soundtrack. His follow up album ‘La couleur de la mer’ saw him create his own soundtrack to a film yet to be made, before ‘Les Cigales’ reflected on the mysticism of Marseilles. His music has seen support from Huey Morgan and Deb Grant (BBCR6), Tony Minvielle on Jazz FM, plus Somewhere Soul, Rinse FM, Radio FIP, NTS and more, amassing millions of streams and selling hundreds of records.
