Freddie Lewis Delves Deep with Poignant New Single for the sake of.
Rising Bristol artist Freddie Lewis returns with for the sake of — a tender, introspective new single taken from his upcoming EP kiss and run, due 12th November 2025.
Marking one of the most emotionally charged moments on the record, for the sake of traces the quiet ache of saying goodbye after a fleeting connection. With a stripped-back folk-soul sound and haunting vocal delivery, Freddie explores the fragility of physical intimacy and the search for meaning beyond it.
“The title of the song, and the extended hook ‘love for the sake of love’, speaks to the purpose of connections like this,” Freddie explains. “They are for the sake of themselves — they do not build, they are a constant goodbye.”
Self-produced and deeply personal, kiss and run promises to be a collection of beautifully melancholic vignettes — love stories that end where they begin. Previous releases from the EP have already earned Freddie praise from The Line of Best Fit, Wordplay Magazine, Atwood Magazine, Pink News, and BBC 6Music’s Emily Pilbeam, alongside key Spotify editorial support.
Since debuting in 2021 with Growing Pains, Freddie has become a powerful voice within the UK’s trans and queer music scene. From viral poetry moments to standout performances at Glastonbury, The Great Escape and Iceland Airwaves, his rise has been steady and heartfelt. Following his sold-out Freddie Lewis Cabaret tour and a recent slot at SXSW London, his new music cements him as one of the UK’s most compelling emerging storytellers.
