Samm Henshaw - Get Back (Single)
Samm Henshaw makes his return with the new single “Get Back” and the announcement of a vinyl-only release for his upcoming album “It Could Be Worse”, landing 21st November. True to form, Samm resists convention, reviving a sense of rarity for music lovers by taking this body of work fully offline and insisting it be heard in the real world first. Produced by Josh Grant, “Get Back” floats on ethereal keys that weave through a shuffling bass and drum groove.
Samm’s vocal simmers as he asks, “How do we get back?”, before the song cools into the glowing embers of a ‘70s-style synth solo.
“You’re looking back at a time that you had maybe taken for granted and you want to get back to that place, ”he reflects. Last week Samm shared a trailerfilmed against a sweeping natural backdrop, in which he speaks about the new project, the ache of loss, and what sits on the far side of heartbreak, all while letting his dry humour peek through, in both the album’s title and his candid delivery. Privacy matters to Samm. So does the quiet push and pull of being a modern artist. With this release, he leans harder into simply living life, on his own terms. Raised in South London, he first introduced himself in 2015 with “Only Wanna Be With You.
”Three years later, he gained global traction with “How Does It Feel?” and “Broke,” gathering over 60 million Spotify streams. 2022 saw him drop Untidy Soul powered by the fan favourite “Grow.
