Venus Anon closes out a breakthrough year with euphoric new single Celestial.

Venus Anon has rapidly become one of the most exciting new artists on the Nordic scene, and her latest release, Celestial, cements that reputation. Blending alt-pop, R&B and early-2000s textures into a sound unmistakably her own, the Swedish singer-songwriter is gearing up for her London headline show at The Waiting Room on 25th November.

Following her January EP Catharsis (spotlighted by DAZED) and summer single fooo00oool, Celestial sees Venus at her most euphoric yet. Written, produced and performed entirely by herself, it’s lifted further by a lush live string arrangement she also composed and recorded. Its accompanying video was filmed in London, where she has been based over the summer while working on her debut album.

Speaking about the track, Venus explains: “Celestial is about risk – and what it means when you finally have something to lose. After years of discipline and responsibility, I’ve built relationships I value above all. Risk is required to gain love, and to really experience life.”

Raised on Sweden’s west coast, Venus grew up with a soundtrack that stretched from Googoosh to Timbaland. As a teen, she immersed herself in Stockholm’s underground queer scene, soaking up smart pop, emotional indie and electronic dance — influences that now merge into her otherworldly sound.

Her 2023 mixtape Nocturnal drew critical acclaim and led to performances at Way Out West, Power Pose Festival and By:Larm, before a Swedish Grammy nomination in 2024 confirmed her rising status. Recent co-signs from Adidas and Dr. Martens, plus a collaboration with underground favourite DenzilHimself, further highlight her growing cultural reach.

With support from the likes of Notion, The Line of Best Fit, COLORS, DAZED and Anthony Fantano (The Needle Drop), Venus Anon closes out a defining year with Celestial. The single arrives just ahead of her London headline show on 25th November – a fitting milestone for one of the most vital new voices to watch right now.
