ThaFirst ft: INFAMOUSIZAK - Chanel Bags (Official Video)
North London riser ThaFirst unleashes his explosive new rap cut “Chanel Bags” ft. INFAMOUSIZAK.
Shot on sight in Paris’ dazzling backdrop, “Chanel Bags” instantly emerges with warm, retro-fitted samples and potent trap percussion; a sleek atmosphere for ThaFirst to deliver smart, intricate wordplay connecting his vision for success and the flashy, party-driven angles captured in the VHS music video. Blazing to new heights, South London native INFAMOUSIZAK quickly joins the fold with punchy bars bursting with finesse: “My sweet one looking at me, holding double C… Like she ain’t never seen these” he stakes as the two emcees perfectly display an upper echelon brand of UK rap, now cementing themselves as a formidable force crashing into wider consciousness.
Speaking on the track, ThaFirst mentions: “A lot of the inspiration behind “Chanel Bags” came from involvement in the recent fashion weeks, meeting and working with various fashion designers as well as my day-to-day experiences. It’s a way of expressing my style, character and dominance.”
ThaFirst adds: “Putting “Chanel Bags” together was a funny one because my producers iLewis and Joe were trying to get me on the beat for weeks, but I didn’t take to it straight away. After Paris Fashion Week, we listened to it again and I fell in love with it. I wrote the track on the plane back and quickly sent it over to INFAMOUSIZAK, next day we got in the studio and the rest was history.”
Born and raised in the bustling scenes of North London, ThaFirst has been surrounded by powerful influences across the music and fashion landscape from an early age. His father, grime veteran and BBK innovator Frisco, exposed him to UK sound culture and shared experiences from one of the city’s most important musical collectives – a pivotal insight that established his deep-rooted influence at street level and visionary conviction as clear markers of a growing talent.
With a stream of releases under his belt, including “Bad One” which saw him sport a gleaming Big Smoke Records pendant, ThaFirst became a key figure in Skepta’s debut MAINS SS24 show across London Fashion Week last year. Catapulting the 24-year-old’s electric presence into the fashion spotlight, he performed at A$AP Nast’s official after-party in Paris earlier this year alongside incendiary DJ sets from Kirou Kirou (99Ginger), Keyrah and NYC pioneer Luka Sabbat. With a key performance at Big Smoke Festival 2024 alongside GRAMMY-winner Flowdan, grime legend Sir Spyro, UK favourite Manga Saint Hilare and more, ThaFirst’s artistic confidence and integrity mark him as one of the most exciting young talents emerging across the UK and beyond.
With a plethora of releases still to come this year, 2024 will no doubt bring ThaFirst further press attention amid a growing reputation and clout in profusion.
