Ego Ella May - FIELDNOTES (EP)

 

Following the release of her critically acclaimed debut album “Honey For Wounds” award-winning singer-songwriter and musician Ego Ella May releases her new EP “FIELDNOTES”.

The new four-track EP is the first in a series of independent releases crafted during lockdown. The London-based artist expertly mixes the genres of Soul, Jazz, and contemporary R&B into her compositions, whilst treating the listener to personal, relatable, and observational lyrics laced with tales of self-healing, protest, love, and loss. Ego Ella May works closely with numerous collaborators including Eun, Geo Jordan, Flwr Chyld, Wu-Lu, and Cynesha Brown, to create exciting sonic backdrops that will treat the listener to new and unique sounds every time. The new EP gives us a taste of what we can expect from Ego’s eagerly anticipated series of offerings.

Ego Ella May has been racking up an impressive collection of accolades recently. With nominations at the Jazz FM Awards (Best Soul Act and Best Vocal Act) and the Urban Music Awards (Best Jazz Act), following her taking home the Best Jazz Act award at the 2020 MOBO Awards. On top of this, songs from the South London hailing artist’s growing catalogue have been featured on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN series ‘Queen Sugar’, STARZ’s “Run The World’, NETFLIX’s ‘Sex Education’ & ‘Dear White People’, Channel 4’s ‘Big Age’, BBC comedy ‘Dreaming Whilst Black’ and more. She also SOLD OUT her London concert at Omeara in the summer of 2021, bringing out Maverick Sabre, Anaiis and Lex Amor to join her live.
