RECAP: Bam Bam Bam presents Amalgam Shapes - Masego, Leven Kali, Oshun & JGrrey- SWX - Bristol

Bam!Bam!Bam! (Triple Bam) have been rapidly establishing themselves as one of the UK’s best event promoters, featuring a stellar roster of international artists within the hip hop, soul, jazz, funk and breaks scene. Their first one day festival in Bristol - Amalgam Shapes, featured a hefty line up, which had been thoughtfully constructed to create an unforgettable vibe.

The headliner for the show was the formidable Masego, the multitalented musician, who after getting well deserved attention from his stunning collaboration with FKJ - Tadow, has been touring internationally and establishing his name amongst some of the finest multifaceted creatives out there. His set, which happened to also be his Birthday was a mini party. He looked so comfortable and happy and with every song the connection with the audience grew. From loop pedal soundscapes created from nothing, to band and backing singer fuelled future-soul gems, it was a set that will have got everyone following Masego and waiting on future releases!

In addition to Masego were the sultry tones of Leven Kali, who’s incredible Colours performance has seen an ever growing interest in his unmistakable, smooth and vintage feeling soul sound. They were joined by the truly stunning JGarrey, who’s music whispers tones of Andreya Triana, Jorja Smith, Harleighbleu, Amy Winehouse and many more. With a dynamic and authentic set, the crowd were in the palm of her hands.

To finish this wonderful line up was none other than OSHUN. These two dynamic ladies have an astounding sound, painting pictures with their words, and like other contemporaries of note - Sampa The Great, Ibeyi, Georgia Ann Muldrow and more, their undeniable talent had SWX fuelled up for some introspective and forward thinking transcending Hip Hop.

If any of the names in this line up are new to you, we would HIGHLY recommend you take the time to check them, you will not be disappointed. Be sure to keep an eye out for future Bam!Bam!Bam! events, in particular Amalgam Shapes, you will be amazed by the array of talent and the beautiful vibe created. A definite must for the festi calendar!
