Remi Wolf - I Won’t Cry (Official Video)

Ahead of her third studio album Mud, Remi Wolf shares one of its most vulnerable moments with new single “I Won’t Cry”.

Tender, yearning and increasingly dramatic, the track finds Wolf wrestling with the aftermath of a former love, beginning in restrained territory before building towards a heart-wrenching crescendo. Her powerhouse vocals carry the emotion as she asks the painful question, “Why don’t you want me back?”

Written during one of the earliest sessions for Mud in Big Bear, Wolf says the song immediately felt special. “It’s sad and yearning and dramatic and kind of pathetic in a way that I really love,” she explains. “It’s genuinely one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written.”

“I Won’t Cry” arrives alongside a video co-directed by Wolf and Milo Nichols, following her through a dreamlike drive through car wash illuminated by rainbow coloured mist.

Set for release on October 9 via Island Records, Mud features 11 tracks including previous singles “Twiggy” and “Bottle”. Following Juno and Big Ideas, the new record sees Wolf embrace a warmer, more spacious sound, leaning heavily into live instrumentation, collaboration and spontaneity while retaining the adventurous pop spirit that has defined her music so far.
