Deto Black links up with Bree Runway for the electric new single ‘Daddy, I’m Going Out’, a bold celebration of individuality, self expression and doing things entirely on your own terms.

Produced by Finn Wigan, the track rides a propulsive beat that steadily builds in intensity, giving both artists plenty of space to bring their personalities to the forefront. Bree delivers her lines with characteristic confidence, while Deto matches that energy with a commanding, playful presence. Together, they turn ‘Daddy, I’m Going Out’ into an infectious statement of defiance for anyone who has ever been told how they should dress, speak, move or exist.

For Deto, the song comes directly from her own experiences growing up. “I remember when I was younger, whenever I was getting ready to go out, I’d come downstairs and my dad would always be sitting in the dining area,” she explains. “I’d be dressed very chic, very sexy, ready for my night, and he’d just look at me. His eyes were basically saying, ‘Is that what you’re going to wear out?’ And I’d be like, ‘Yeah… that is what I’m going to wear out.’”

Following the Afro infused ‘Sisi Eko’, the new single continues a busy period for Deto, whose music and fashion worlds have become increasingly intertwined. After the success of her 2024 EP Nollypop and headline shows in Los Angeles, New York and London, ‘Daddy, I’m Going Out’ finds her pushing forward once again with a record that feels fearless, fun and completely comfortable in its own skin.
