The Game - The Documentary 3 (Album)

Compton rap heavyweight The Game returns with The Documentary 3, the third chapter in the landmark series that began with his classic 2005 debut. Twenty years on, Game once again puts Los Angeles firmly at the centre of his world, delivering a huge 24 track project packed with heavyweight collaborations.

The guest list brings together generations of rap and R&B, with Drake, Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, Black Thought, E-40, YG, Larry June, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Leon Thomas, Marsha Ambrosius, Tyga, Kalan.FrFr and the late Drakeo The Ruler among those appearing. Highlights include Snoop assisted ‘Love It or Hate It’, ‘Steppers’ with Lil Wayne, Drake collaboration ‘No Brakes’, Kanye West featuring ‘40 Nights’ and ‘I Won’t Be Afraid’ alongside Black Thought.

Arriving two decades after The Documentary helped bring a renewed spotlight to West Coast rap, its latest sequel finds The Game looking to underline both his longevity and his place within LA hip hop history. As he puts it: “Everybody wanna debate who the greatest rapper out of LA is. I’m here to remind y’all what the standard was.”

Alongside the album comes a Benny Boom directed video for ‘Sticks’, filmed around LA’s historic Pueblo Del Rio community, while a cinematic trailer directed by Sam King further embraces the lowriders, streets and unmistakable West Coast imagery that have surrounded The Game throughout his career.

The Documentary 3 follows his recent DJ Drama hosted Every Movie Needs A Trailer and End Credits projects and adds another substantial chapter to a catalogue now spanning more than two decades.
