Dying 4 - Strafe (Single)
Dying 4 announces debut EP Perish Songs with new single 'Strafe'.
Joseph Nash, best known as the guitarist in experimental outfit Blue Bendy, has unveiled his new solo project, Dying 4, alongside debut single 'Strafe'. The track is the first taste of forthcoming EP Perish Songs, due for release on 4 September via Practise Music.
Built around warped guitars, fractured club rhythms and bright pop melodies, 'Strafe' blends UK garage, midwest emo and art-rock into something that feels both nostalgic and forward thinking. What began as a guitar warm up riff eventually evolved into a genre blurring electronic production, with Nash using the guitar as the foundation for almost every sound.
Growing up in Scunthorpe, Nash was surrounded by clashing youth subcultures, from skaters and emos to UK garage devotees. That mix of influences now defines Dying 4, where shimmering pop hooks collide with glitchy production, distorted guitars and leftfield electronic textures.
While Blue Bendy has earned praise for its adventurous approach to rock, Dying 4 gives Nash space to push those experimental instincts even further. With Perish Songs, he introduces a project that transforms contrasting influences into a distinctive and exciting new sound.
