King Kashmere - Zero Point Modulations (Vol. 1) (Album)

King Kashmere steps out from behind the mic and fully into the producer's chair on Zero Point Modulations (Vol. 1), a sprawling 24 track project that showcases another side of one of UK hip hop's most inventive minds. Best known as one half of Strange U, Kashmere has spent years refining his production style, and this ambitious High Focus Records release proves that his true calling may well have been behind the boards all along.

Built around 130 and 140 BPM rhythms, Zero Point Modulations blends grime, dubstep, dub, hip hop and sample driven production into a genre defying listen. Kashmere's love of experimentation runs throughout the album, bringing together an incredible cast of UK talent to explore sounds that feel both familiar and refreshingly unexpected. As he explains, "No-one does 140 better than the UK," and this record is a celebration of that energy.

The guest list reads like a who's who of underground UK music, with standout appearances from Durrty Goodz, Flirta D and Harry Shotta on the explosive "Shadows", while "Big [Bad]" sees Genesis Elijah, Killa P and Dabbla trade heavyweight verses over a thunderous beat. Elsewhere, "Good Morning" unites Harry Shotta, Jaz Kahina and PAV4N, "Alive" brings together Fliptrix, Farma G and Jazz T for one of the album's most uplifting moments, and "Heights" gives Verb T space to shine. Fans will also want to check out the hard hitting "Violatorz" featuring Ramson Badbonez and Flowtecs, alongside the closing stretch which includes "Nuisance" with JayaHadADream and Fliptrix and "Phone on Silent" featuring Larwood.

Rather than feeling like a collection of guest spots, Zero Point Modulations (Vol. 1) is held together by Kashmere's distinctive production vision. It's an adventurous, uncompromising project that pushes beyond traditional hip hop while celebrating the richness of the UK's underground scene. Released on 30 July via High Focus Records, this is a bold producer's statement and one of the label's most ambitious releases to date.
