Roots Picnic 2026

One of hip hop's most celebrated festivals is crossing the Atlantic for the first time as Roots Picnic makes its UK debut at Crystal Palace Bowl on 8-9 August 2026, bringing an all star lineup of hip hop, soul and R&B legends to London.

Day one will be headlined by Nas & The Roots, who'll deliver a special two hour collaborative set. The Saturday bill also includes Sasha Keable, Nia Smith, and J.PERIOD's acclaimed Live Mixtape featuring Black Thought, Yasiin Bey and Benny The Butcher.

Sunday shifts the focus towards neo-soul and R&B, with a special Sunday Jam led by Robert Glasper & Questlove, joined by Common and Bilal, before Grammy-winning singer Anthony Hamilton closes the festival. Support comes from Musiq Soulchild, Floetry and Gotts Street Park with Olive Jones. Both Anthony Hamilton and Floetry will be making their first UK appearances in more than a decade.

Originally launched in Philadelphia in 2007 by The Roots, Roots Picnic has built a reputation as one of the world's premier music festivals, previously hosting artists including Jay-Z, Erykah Badu, Lil Wayne, Pharrell, The Weeknd, Usher, Snoop Dogg and Solange.

The event forms part of the new Palace Bowl Presents summer series, which will also feature performances from Grace Jones, Sir Tom Jones, Gary Numan, Bastille, Davido, Kirk Franklin and more, continuing the Crystal Palace Bowl's long tradition of hosting iconic live music events.
