Indonesian born, London based singer songwriter Naya Yeira returns with her latest single, twenty9, a moody and experimental alt-R&B offering that signals a new chapter in her artistic evolution.
Built around sparse electronic production, hypnotic melodies and deeply personal songwriting, twenty9 explores the frustration of feeling stuck in familiar cycles while searching for renewal and change. Naya's intimate vocal delivery brings an emotional weight to the track, balancing vulnerability with quiet determination.
Speaking about the release, Naya explains: “When I was making it, it definitely came from a place of frustration from being in the same place and manifesting something new. I hope it gives people a sense of hope during difficult moments too.”
The single follows a strong run of releases including Peace of Mind, Hopefully and Wicked Games, each showcasing different facets of her genre blurring blend of R&B, pop and alternative influences. Since relocating from Jakarta to London, Naya has continued to carve out a distinctive creative identity, drawing from her multicultural background and experiences of self discovery, resilience and belonging.
With support from BBC Introducing, Jess Iszatt, and publications including Wonderland, DIY, Wordplay Magazine and The Independent, Naya Yeira is steadily building momentum, and twenty9 feels like her most compelling statement yet.
