Africaine - For Me, This Time (EP)
Connecticut born Nigerian American artist Africaine makes an assured introduction with her debut EP, For Me, This Time, an eight track project that blends smooth R&B and soul with afropop influences to explore love, identity and self-discovery.
Drawing inspiration from the likes of Alicia Keys, Jazmine Sullivan, Tiwa Savage and Amaarae, Africaine delivers a deeply personal collection that reflects her journey of growth, vulnerability and choosing herself. Much of the EP was created in her home studio, while tracks including Whatever and the title song showcase a more spontaneous creative process that allows emotion to take centre stage.
Standout moments include the empowering Whatever, the heartbreak of Burn, and Give It Away, featuring Nonso Amadi, which adds warmth to the project's themes of connection and healing. Across the record, Africaine balances soulful vocals with honest songwriting, creating an intimate but relatable listening experience.
Already making waves with more than four million streams, playlist support from Apple Music and Spotify, and performances alongside Fireboy DML and The Cavemen, For Me, This Time marks a confident debut from an independent artist with a clear vision and a message of self-belief and empowerment.
