Bryan Chase has continued to expand his musical spectrum both domestically and internationally since debuting in 2015 with his EP Lost in the City Part.1. First emerging as a member of the legendary hip hop crew Cohort, a collective widely recognised for helping pioneer Korea’s underground hip hop scene, Bryan has since built a distinctive identity through his genre fluid sound and effortless vocal ability. With ‘Outside,’ Bryan Chase reinforces his place at the forefront of a wave of artists bringing Korean hip hop and R&B to a global audience.
Bryan Chase sat down with Wordplay Magazine to answer our infamous 10 Questions:
1. So tell me, how did it all begin? What sparked your love for music?
Music was always around me growing up, but I never planned on becoming a musician. That changed when I moved to Seoul and met Okasian and The Cohort, whose creativity inspired me to start making music and eventually pursue it as a career.
2. Who are some artists that influence you and that you want to work with in the future?
As far as collaborations, there are so many talented people I really admire but one thing I'm really looking forward to is working more with Okasian and Keith Ape again. It's been a while since we've spent real time in the studio together, and that's something I'm excited about this year.
3. What projects do you have coming up and can you give us any info on them?
Much, much more music.
I've been creating constantly and exploring a lot of different sounds lately. I've been collaborating with producers, songwriters, and artists from different backgrounds, and that's opened up a lot of new creative possibilities. I don't want to give away too much yet, but there's definitely a lot more on the way.
4. How would you describe your sound?
It’s hard to say. I know a lot of people see me as a rapper, but whether I’m rapping, singing, or trying new genres I've always been interested in exploring new sounds and expressing myself in different ways.
5. What's your proudest moment to date so far as an artist?
I'm most proud of being able to continue growing as an artist and sharing that journey with the people who support me. Every moment brings something new and every project a new perspective, I'm really thankful for all of it.
6. Do you have any advice for our readers who may be trying to play the mad game of music?
Stay authentic and patient to yourself. Everyone's path looks different, there's no single formula for success.

8. What albums are on heavy rotation on your Spotify playlist currently?
SWAG by Justin Bieber and every single Michael Jackson song.
9. What do you like to do when you're not making music?
Basketball it’s my favorite thing to do outside music and my dream is to travel the world while making music and play a little basketball.
10. Name Three things you can't live without when in the studio?
Good people, good speakers, good food.
