EZ Papi - Naked (Official Video)
EZ Papi steps into a darker, more vulnerable space with “Naked,” a slow burning R&B release rooted in honesty, restraint, and late night emotion.
Originally written in 2019 in the aftermath of My Dear Melancholy, the track was first imagined with The Weeknd in mind. Inspired by the moody minimalism and emotional tension of that era, EZ Papi spent years trying to place the record during the sessions that would eventually shape After Hours. Despite persistent outreach through A&Rs and industry connections, the opportunity never materialised.
Instead of shelving the song completely, he held onto it.
Now, seven years later, “Naked” returns with a different purpose, not as a missed placement, but as a defining artistic statement. Guided by atmospheric production, understated vocals, and an intimate emotional core, the record leans into vulnerability without ever feeling overworked. Every lyric lingers, every moment feels deliberate.
Blending Afro-Caribbean textures, Latin influence, and early 2000s R&B nostalgia, EZ Papi continues carving out a sound that feels both global and deeply personal. Having spent years writing behind the scenes for major artists, “Naked” marks a clear shift inward: more reflective, more intentional, and fully his own.
More than just a release, “Naked” feels like a reclamation, proof that sometimes the right records arrive exactly when they’re supposed to.
